  • How to Use Call Forwarding Busy Line/Do Not Answer This product is no longer available to new customers. Customers in CT, MA, NY and RI who currently subscribe to the product and remove it will not be able to re-order.

    Fixed options
    Activating Fixed options. In most areas, Call Forwarding Busy Line/Do Not Answer with Fixed options is always on.

    In areas where you can turn Fixed options on or off:

    • Using a touch tone phone only, lift the receiver and listen for the dial tone.
    To activate:

    • Press *90 if you want your calls forwarded when your line is busy.

    • Press *92 if you want your calls forwarded after a pre-set number of rings
    To deactivate:

    • Press *91 if you no longer want your calls forwarded when you line is busy.

    • Press *93 if you no longer want your calls forwarded after a pre-set number of rings.
    Variable Options Variable Options may not be available in all areas.

    The Variable option automatically sends your calls to a forwarding number when your line is busy or after a preset number of rings.

    To activate:

    1. Using a touch tone phone, lift the telephone receiver and listen for the dial tone.


    2. Press *41 to activate Variable options.


    3. Dial the number where you want your calls to be forwarded.


    4. Hang up the receiver and your calls will be forwarded to the phone number you entered.
    To deactivate:

    1. Using a touch tone phone, lift the telephone receiver and listen for the dial tone.


    2. Press *43 to deactivate Variable options.


    3. Hang up the receiver and your calls will ring on your home phone.
    Note Call Forward Variable takes precedence over Call Forward Busy and Call Forward Busy/Do Not Answer.
    Troubleshooting A busy signal sounds when you activate Call Forwarding:
    1. Make sure you are using the correct activation code.
      Geographic areas and different types of forwarding may use different codes.


    2. Call Forwarding cannot be activated at this time.
      Try again later.


    3. Call Forwarding is already activated.
      Deactivate Call Forwarding, wait a couple of minutes, then try to activate it again.
