FiOS TV on Xbox Welcome to FiOS TV on Xbox
Verizon is proud to offer FiOS customers a new option for viewing selected television channels within the home. If you subscribe to FiOS TV, FiOS Internet, and Xbox LIVE Gold, you can use the Verizon FiOS app to watch live streaming channels on an Xbox connected to a TV without having to pay for another set-top box!

Enjoy the flexibility and convenience of this alternative to a traditional set-top box to bring some of the great content found on FiOS TV channels to other rooms in your home. You can even use an Xbox Kinect controller to interact with the application.

TV Channels
It’s easy to start watching live streaming television channels on your Xbox using your home network and your FiOS services. If you already subscribe to both FiOS TV service and FiOS internet service, simply select the channel offering you want to watch from the Verizon FiOS TV app, select Watch Now, and the channel will begin streaming.

Don’t forget, you must be subscribed to the selected channel on your FiOS TV channel package in order to enjoy it on your Xbox. To check your channel package subscriptions, go to www.verizon.com and log in to My Account. You can also add channels and upgrade your channel package from My Account or directly from your FiOS TV set-top box using your remote control.

TV Listings
Not sure exactly what you want to watch? Check out the TV listings guide on Xbox, which is much like the guide on your FiOS TV set-top box. It shows the currently airing program as well as the next 3 programs on each of the available channels that are streaming to your Xbox.

For quicker browsing, select Categories to filter the guide by genre. For example, you can select the category “Sports”, and the guide will display only Sports programs that are airing in the near future. Then just select a channel to begin watching your program.

Search
Looking for a specific TV show or movie on the available channels in the FiOS TV app? Use the Search feature to quickly and easily locate programs in the app without having to navigate through the program guide. Just press the Y button to launch Search, and then enter your search term using the keyboard at the top of the screen.

You’ll see the TV shows or movies from the available channel offering that match your search term, and then you can simply select the program to begin watching it. If the program you’re looking for isn’t airing until later, or you’re just done searching for now, press the Y button again to return to the previous screen.

Closed Captioning
Closed Captioning is available for most programs on most channels. To turn Closed Captioning on, go to Settings in the Verizon FiOS TV app and select Closed Captioning. You should start seeing Closed Captioning being displayed whenever it is available for that currently airing program.

Parental Controls
Use your Xbox parental controls to manage the content that can be viewed using the Verizon FiOS TV app. Xbox parental controls are located on the Dashboard under Settings > Console Safety. From there you can restrict the content ratings that will be viewable on this particular console, as well as the time that the console can be used on a daily or weekly basis.

Troubleshooting
Having problems viewing or hearing a particular channel or program? Try the following:
  • Check that all cable connections between your Xbox and TV are properly seated
  • Check your audio connections and confirm that audio is working properly
  • Check that your Xbox is still connected to your FiOS home router, either wired or wireless (you may need to restart your router or making sure all connections are properly seated)
  • Make sure you are subscribed to the channel you are trying to stream (to check your channel package subscriptions, go to myverizon.com and log in to My Account)
  • Limit activities such as downloading or uploading large files on other connected devices on the network to maximize your bandwidth while streaming live TV channels on the Xbox
