  1. Have you received notification from another company regarding Verizon leaving the email business?

Over the next several weeks we’ll be notifying all customers who have a Verizon Email address that we’re preparing to leave the email business; however not all customers will be notified at the same time. All customers will be given two options on how to handle their email going forward, including the ability to keep their verizon.net email address. Each customer will be provided their own date and timeline to take action to ensure their access to email is not interrupted. Other than this change, no other Verizon services will be impacted.
  2. Why is Verizon leaving the email business?

We have decided to close down our email business. Over the years we’ve realized that there are more capable email platforms out there. As a result, we’ve made a decision to get out of the email business, which will allow us to focus our energies in providing you with the best in phone, Internet, TV experiences, and value-added services.
  3. Why is Verizon asking me if I want to retain my verizon.net email address?

Verizon will no longer provide verizon.net email service. Instead, we will focus on providing our Internet, TV and phone customers the best experience possible. We realize some customers may or may not want to keep their verizon.net email address, so we are offering you two options.
    ●    If you prefer to keep your verizon.net email address, please follow the steps in the “Keep your current email address” section below. This option allows you to keep the email address that you love, while having it be supported and serviced by AOL, a leading email provider.
    ●    Alternatively, you can use a new email provider. For details, follow the steps in the “Use any other email provider” section below. You will be instructed how to download your email, contacts and calendar(s) to take to a provider of your choice.
  4. How will I know when I need to make the decision about keeping my verizon.net business email address?

Over the next several months, we will let you know when it's time to make a decision about your business email account. We will communicate your options via email (see sample email image below).

  5. How do I start the process of keeping my verizon.net email address?

We will let you know when it's time to make a decision about your business email account. We will communicate your options via email (see sample email image in FAQ no. 4 above), and you will see messaging when you sign into verizon.com/BizWebMail or business.verizon.com to start the process. See the “Email service notice” image below.
    Day Zero Email Notice

  6. What if I have not accessed my business email account and have forgotten either my UserID/Username or Password?

You can retrieve your User ID/Username or Password through the “Forgot User ID” or “Forgot Password” link at verizon.com/BizWebMail or business.verizon.com and follow the provided steps to reset.
  7. Why am I seeing an “Email service notice” when attempting to access my business email account?

If you see an “Email service notice” message when attempting to access your email through verizon.com/BizWebMail or business.verizon.com, then it is time to choose the option which will allow you to keep your current email address or use a new email provider. Please follow the steps in the “Keep verizon.net email address” or the “Use any other email provider” sections below.
  8. What if I am unable to send and/or receive email from my email client (Outlook, Thunderbird, mobile device, etc.)?

If you are unable to send and/or receive email, it could mean that it’s time to make a decision about your Verizon business email account. Sign into your email from verizon.com/BizWebMail, where you'll see a message indicating “Email service notice” (see image below). To start, select your choice and follow the steps provided.
    Day Zero Email Notice
  9. What if I do not see a “Keep verizon.net email address” or a “Use any other email provider” link?

    a.    You may not see this messaging because your Business email account has not be scheduled for migration yet.
    b.    The Keep your current email address and Use any other email provider links are only accessible after you successfully sign into you’re your business email account at verizon.com/BizWebMail and your account is scheduled for migration.

Note: If you have multiple email accounts, each account will receive email notifications about the options related to your verizon.net business email account(s) independently. Please ensure you are signing into each account that received a notification email to make your choice. A choice will need to be made for each account.
  10. Will the change to my email account impact my other services?

This change will have no impact to your other Verizon service(s).
  11. What will happen if I decide to take no action?

You will no longer be able to send or receive email using your verizon.net email address. In addition, you will lose your current contacts, calendar(s) and email. Also, after 180 days of inactivity we will delete the account. Doing so helps us reduce our server storage needs and electrical consumption. If you want to keep your verizon.net business email address, follow the steps in the “Keep your current email address” section below.
