I want to work for Verizon once I leave the military in 12 to 18 months. When should I contact you?

Congrats on your service and on planning your next step. The best time to reach out is about 90 days before you are eligible to start the next great chapter in your career.

How do I apply? Do I need paperwork from the military?

No special paperwork is required. Just search for a job and apply for any positions that you are interested in. And definitely note that you are a veteran when asked on the application.

Due to my service in the military, I don’t have a college degree. Will Verizon still consider me?

Absolutely. We’ll consider your time in the military, experience and military spouse status as we review your application.

What job areas are most relevant to my military experience?

We hire service members across all functions and departments. We’ve found service members to be especially successful in engineering, sales, customer service and operations roles.

Thank you to you and your spouse for your service. We understand the challenges you face as you support your spouse’s career as a service member, and we will do our best to support you both by being flexible and working with you during that transition. If an opening equal to or similar to what you’re doing is available at your new location, we will assist in placing you in that position. If the position is different from your current one, we’ll work with our military spouse employment team to assist you in the process.

I have gaps in my employment history because I have moved around to support my spouse’s military career. Are there job opportunities for me at Verizon?

We certainly want to look and find out if there are! We support military spouses by providing opportunities in many of our career areas, from sales and customer service to finance and information technology and more. Search our career opportunities or connect with our military spouse department to learn about how your skills may match our career opportunities.

My spouse has been on many military deployments, so I have been out of the workforce and a stay-at-home mom/dad. I’m ready to start my career now. Given my limited work experience, what job opportunities at Verizon will be available for me?

Contact our military spouse department to discover what career opportunities match your skills. We also support the Hiring Our Heroes app, which helps military spouses develop their résumés based on volunteering and other experiences.
