There's so much more to Verizon than data, broadband and wireless technologies. At the Verizon Foundation, we’re mobilizing our resources around one mission: how do we use our technology to address some of the most pressing social problems impacting the underserved inside of education and healthcare. That’s why we are building our own robust programs that put the most advanced technology into the hands of the people who need it the most, and measuring their impact.
Verizon Joins with Rep. Frank Pallone, Jr. to Examine Disaster Response
Verizon leaders in New Jersey joined with Rep. Frank Pallone, Jr., (D-6th Dist.) as well as other utilities, local elected officials and media outlets that cover the state, for a forum that examined the lessons learned and the progress since Superstorm Sandy struck three years ago. The backdrop for the Sept. 2 event was the Monmouth Beach Elementary School, which was devastated in the storm and took a year of reconstruction for the children to return. Verizon used the forum to display its emergency disaster trucks and tents, designed to give storm victims immediate access to telecommunications during the worst disasters.
