YOUR VERIZON WHITE PAGES DIRECTORY HAS GONE GREEN
In an effort to keep pace with evolving technology and consumer demand, Verizon is modifying its delivery of directories to be more environmentally conscious and more responsive to customers in today's world. Beginning in 2011, many directories will no longer include residential White Pages listings. A directory containing business and government white pages, yellow pages and information pages will continue to be delivered.
Rather than continuing to send out millions of copies of printed residential white pages each year, the vast majority of which are not wanted, Verizon is adopting a more customer-focused and environmentally aware approach to the distribution of residential white page directories by expanding the choices available to customers to access directory information.
These new options offered by Verizon are expected to save thousand of tons of paper annually, much of which ends up in landfills today. This effort will also save energy associated with printing, binding and distributing the directories.
