EUnet and INnet connect their networks

Antwerpen, Leuven, 27 october 1995. From today, the two largest and most important Belgian commercial networks, the one from EUnet and the one from INnet, are directly connected. This network connection, a "peering" agreement between these two providers, allows traffic to be exchanged between the networks via a permanent connection.

For users of these networks, this agreement means that when consulting information on the other's network, this will go fast and swiftly through the permanent connection. Until now, the information flow followed a long way over transatlantic lines. For EUnet and INnet, this agreement fits perfectly in their continous quest for a better service towards their customers.

The expansion and the quality of the Internet in Belgium is for both companies a high priority. Together the two service providers serve over 90 % of the Belgian commercial Internet market.
