Verizon is continuing a trend that has proven popular among FiOS TV subscribers in the past by offering free on demand programming from leading content providers.  This time, consumers can enjoy STARZ and ENCORE titles between Nov. 27 and Dec. 2.

But be careful how much turkey you eat over the Thanksgiving break.  You don’t want to fall asleep in front of the TV with this much free STARZ and ENCORE FiOS On Demand action going on.  Rather than binging on the cranberry sauce, how about going from one great movie to another like –

Zero Dark Thirty (STARZ)
Wreck-It Ralph (STARZ)
Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery (ENCORE)
Good Will Hunting (ENCORE)
Elf (ENCORE)

And there will be more titles of course throughout the holiday stretch.  FiOS customers can access the free content by going to the “On Demand” button on the FiOS remote, then go to “Free and Premium,” then “Free Movies,” choosing either STARZ or ENCORE from that location.  Customers will also find STARZ on channels 340-347 SD or channels 840-847 (HD) and ENCORE on channels 350-363 SD and channel 850 HD.

We’ve been encouraging our FiOS TV customers to become familiar with our 70,000-plus titles in our On Demand library throughout this year with solid results.  Our Memorial Day free On Demand Marathon  produced a 36 percent increase in video streams during thesame year-over-year period, while our September video marathon experienced a 48 percent year-over-year increase.

It’s clear to us - when customers dip their toes in the FiOS On Demand water they discover the temperature is just right and the experience worth repeating.  Verizon has seen the percentage of customers using video on demand go up by 11 percent since 2011.  Likewise, the opportunity to purchase titles for multiscreen use – to own movies and keep them stored in Verizon’s cloud to use whenever and wherever you want – has seen average revenue per user double during the same time.

After giving thanks for all the things that really matter this Thanksgiving weekend, sit back, relax and enjoy great STARZ and ENCORE content for free over FiOS On Demand service.  The calories are low but the enjoyment is every bit as satisfying.
