In honor of Valentine’s Day, V Teamers are showing love to other V teamers by donating to V to V — employee relief fund.

V Teamers know how to show the love when fellow V Teamers need it most.

It’s Valentine’s Day, and love is in the air. Whether it’s the love of a significant other, the love of heart-shaped chocolates, or even the love of puppies, love is everywhere today. Seriously, who doesn’t love puppies?

But most of all, V Teamers love other V Teamers. We’ve always got each other’s backs.

Last summer’s devastating hurricane season left thousands of people in southern states, and several Verizon employees, without a home to reside in. Some families lost everything. Hundreds of employees needed assistance, and fast.

So what’s better than chocolate or jewelry?

Last year alone, over 600 employees received grants from the VtoV Employee Relief Fund in order to quickly access lodging, food, clothing and more. Although the vast majority of applications were for hurricane relief, a significant number of applicants fell victim to house fires, domestic violence, tornadoes, wildfires and other circumstances requiring immediate evacuation.

VtoV is a 501(c)(3) public charity managed by our third party partner, E4E. The Fund is completely supported through employee donations, and Verizon pays all administrative fees. Unlike other charities, 100% of the donations go to the employee. Grants are not repaid to the Fund, and the monies are not taxed.

In dire times, V Teamers run to a crisis, not away. It’s our culture. The outpouring of donations during times of crises is overwhelming. During hurricane season, V Teamers around the country stepped up and kept the donations coming in for affected employees. Tax deductible donations can be doubled through the Verizon Foundation Matching Gifts program.

You’d love to help too?

You don’t even have to be an employee of Verizon to donate to VtoV, although only employees are eligible to receive a grant.

To show someone your love this Valentine’s Day, consider making a donation in their name. If you decide to give them a gift card instead, have them donate any unused balance to VtoV.
