Michelle Gilbert, Verizon Wireless PR manager for Indiana, Michigan and Kentucky, presents an $11,000 grant to WTHR Community Affairs Director Angela Cain – the NBC affiliate and home station of Super Bowl 46.

Verizon’s grant announced Friday, January 27 was second in a series of the “$46K for 46 Play” program leading up to the big game in Indianapolis. The Domestic Violence Network, recipient of the grant, will help “Shatter the Silence” about domestic violence in Indianapolis. The station has long been a proponent of public education on domestic violence issues. The Shattering the Silence Fund also raises money to support the growth of healthy relationships and teen dating abuse prevention programs in Indiana schools and youth agencies.
