This is a guest post by Tom Franklin, manager, new product development/FiOS Quantum Gateway team leader

Verizon recently announced the FiOS Quantum Gateway, our most powerful router yet, is now available for our customers. When we announced it, we gave customers an idea of what we thought they would love about the new Gateway. And now, the reaction from key industry observers is in and it was swift and equally as powerful as the Quantum Gateway itself:

“Verizon FiOS Launches Souped-Up Broadband Gateway FiOS Quantum Gateway Sports 802.11ac, MoCA 2.0.” – Jeff Baumgartner, Multichannel News

“Verizon has responded to the burgeoning need for higher speed Wi-Fi home networking connections with the debut of its FiOS Quantum Gateway, a device it claims can deliver up to 800 Mbps.” – Sean Buckley, Fierce Telecom

“In many homes, the wireless router is the weak link between the web and your actual internet experience. It may be too slow, coverage might be uneven and it doesn’t often have the features a consumer needs to control their devices and home network without becoming a network engineer. Verizon is solving this issue with a new gateway it built in partnership with Greenwave Systems.” - Stacy Higgenbotham, GigaOm

Take a look at our latest video featuring John Schommer, director of new product development. I’m proud to be a part of the team that developed the FiOS Quantum Gateway under John’s direction. In this video, he explains how the FiOS Quantum Gateway is able to deliver a more efficient and stronger connection to your connected devices – and how you’ll continue to enjoy the latest and greatest on this product’s development map, simply by having it plugged in and connected.
