The work done by engineers is central to making the world run and every day brings a new puzzle to solve, a question to debate. Here are a few things I wish someone would have told me as an aspiring engineer.

Be flexible.
The digital world is constantly evolving. Always be thinking ahead in terms of what’s next.
Believe in yourself.
Where you’ll go in pursuing your dream is limited only by your imagination.
Grab a mentor.
Acquire strong role models to help guide you on the journey.
Be a leader.
Don’t be afraid to lead and muster the courage to do so: do not squander your unique talents.
Give 100%.
Keep your eye on the prize. When you achieve results, people will take notice.
