NEW YORK - Bell Atlantic Internet Solutions, a subsidiary of Verizon Communications, is offering subscribers to the Intel® WebOutfittersm service a big break on high-speed Internet access.

Intel WebOutfitter service members, whose phone lines qualify for Infospeed DSL from Bell Atlantic, can get a free DSL modem and one month of free Personal Infospeed DSL service, including Bell Atlantic.net Internet access - a value of $138.95. The regular monthly price for the DSL package is $39.95. A DSL modem costs $99. The offer is available only to new Infospeed DSL subscribers.

Infospeed DSL is Bell Atlantic's brand name for DSL, or Digital Subscriber Line technology, which provides a dedicated line to the Internet or corporate networks at dramatically faster speeds than conventional analog modems. DSL is offered over existing phone lines. Once connected, users can stay on as long as they want. There's no re-dialing and no busy signals.

"We are delivering swift Internet access at a great value," said Amy McIntosh, Verizon group president for Internet and Data Services. Verizon is the national communications company formed by the recent merger of Bell Atlantic and GTE. "Intel's WebOutfitter service members now have the best of both worlds -- access to Intel's powerful Pentium® III processor and Infospeed DSL."

Infospeed DSL is available to more than 21.5 million phone lines serving households and businesses in parts of New York, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Vermont, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, New Jersey, Delaware, Maine, New Hampshire, Connecticut and the District of Columbia.

The Intel WebOutfitter Service, www.intelweboutfitter.com, is a special Web site that delivers tools and services to help customers get the most from their Pentium III processor-based PCs.
