NEW YORK -- Yellow Freight System, a worldwide transportation services
provider, has won a Bell Atlantic Supplier Excellence Award for
providing Bell Atlantic with superior service.

Bill Zollars, president, Yellow Freight System, accepted the award
from Bell Atlantic Chief Administrative Officer Ben Reca today during
a ceremony at Yellow Freight System's corporate headquarters in
Overland Park, Kan. Yellow Freight System delivers a wide range of
goods and materials to Bell Atlantic, from office products to
telephone poles, throughout the company's service area.

"Yellow Freight has proven to be professional, reliable and
dedicated," said Reca. "Deliveries are virtually always on time and of
high quality. Yellow Freight's superior service plays a critical role
in our ability to provide quality products and outstanding service to
our customers."

Yellow Freight earned high marks in customer service, on-time
deliveries and low damage claims. Ninety-eight percent of items
delivered to Bell Atlantic in the last 10 months were on time.

judged on the quality of their performance, service delivery and
customer satisfaction.
