Bridge Fire in Lawrence, Mass., Impacts Verizon Services
A fire under the Central Bridge on North Canal Street in Lawrence early this morning (Aug. 27) has damaged Verizon cables at the site of the fire.
Some Verizon customers in Andover, Lawrence, Littleton, Metheun, North Andover, North Reading and Tewksbury have lost some Verizon services. Voice and data services for some business and government customers may also be affected. And customers in other communities may be affected as well. Verizon technicians are on the scene assessing the damage and have already begun restoration efforts. They will work in round-the-clock shifts until all services are restored. Verizon is notifying local and state officials and will keep them informed of restoration efforts.
