NEW YORK -- For Verizon Long Distance customers, this will be a summer of patriotic prize-winning.
Now through Labor Day, Sept. 2, every time customers make a call using Verizon long-distance and regional toll services, they will be automatically entered to win a $500 U.S. savings bond. One bond will be awarded each day, and on the Fourth of July and Labor Day, 25 additional $1,000 bonds will be awarded in special patriotic drawings.
Because each Verizon Long Distance call generates an entry, the more calls customers make using Verizon Long Distance, the more opportunities they have to win. "Verizon's Call America sweepstakes is good for our customers and good for our country," said Mark Adams, executive director of consumer marketing for Verizon.
Like Verizon's Olympic Games and 'NSYNC sweepstakes last year, the sweepstakes is designed to stimulate calling and to reward loyal customers.
Current and new Verizon Long Distance customers who sign up for any Verizon Long Distance products during the sweepstakes period are eligible to participate.
Calls that qualify for entry in the sweepstakes include all residential direct-dialed, state-to-state and in-state domestic, regional toll, and international long-distance calls, as well as use of Verizon's Calling Cards and Personal Toll Free Service. Eligible calls also include those made to Verizon Long Distance operators by dialing "00" or "0" plus the number for call completion services, or by dialing the area code plus 555-1212 for directory assistance.
Customers can learn more about the sweepstakes and review the official rules by visiting www.verizonld.com/callamerica or by calling 800-860-4209. According to the sweepstakes rules, no calls or purchases are necessary to enter. Sweepstakes entries will be accepted via the Verizon Long Distance Call America Web site at www.verizonld.com/callamerica any time beginning 12 a.m. EDT July 1 through 11:59 p.m. EDT Sept. 2. There is no limit to the number of times the sweepstakes may be entered using the Web site.
