Carolyn Eligan has been named manager of the new Verizon Wireless Communications Store at Pittsburgh International Airport, the first-of-its-kind wireless outlet for the company.

Eligan brings more than 23 years of retail experience to this position, where she will head the company's first airport store in the country. This location is deemed a customer care center with a focus on serving a national customer base and with half the staff made up of customer care representatives.

"I'm excited about this opportunity because it is the first Verizon Wireless location in an airport and enables me to meet people from all over the world and provide them with the best wireless products and services," Eligan said. "The atmosphere and environment at the airport is always brimming with activity, and my team is very positive, upbeat and ready to serve customers."

Eligan has been with Verizon Wireless for one year, most recently as assistant manager of the company's Cranberry Township Communications Store. Previously, she was a sales manager for Circuit City and worked for Kaufmann's for 21 years in sales management. Eligan received her B.A. degree from Wilberforce University (Ohio) in 1978.
