EuroTel Scores Big With First Quarter '98 Results and
Olympic Gold Medal Hockey Team

PHILADELPHIA -- In Nagano, Japan, the Czech national hockey team
recently skated to Olympic Gold. EuroTel Praha, Bell Atlantic's Czech
wireless investment, ended the first period of 1998 by scoring gold of
its own, adding a record of more than 37,000 customers between January
1 and March 31.
EuroTel's first quarter growth brought the company to 392,000 net
total customers. About 20 percent of the growth came from prepaid
