ATLANTA - eXitSource (formerly Interstate America), the definitive source of real-time travel content for motorists en route, today announced a partnership agreement with Verizon Wireless, the company formed by the combination GTE's, Bell Atlantic's and Vodafone AirTouch's U.S. cellular, paging and PCS businesses. A new wireless Web application from eXitSource will be one of the preferred services available free-of-charge for Verizon Wireless' Mobile Web customers. As a result of the signed agreement, eXitSource's new wireless data product will soon be available to Verizon's customer base of nearly 25 million wireless and voice data customers.

eXitSource's wireless Web content connects interstate highway travelers to eXitSource's in-depth, relevant data on travel services at every exit in the United States and Canada, providing essential road travel information, such as gas, food and lodging en route, precisely when drivers need it. Designed with ease-of-use and motorist safety in mind, eXitSource is an invaluable resource for emergency needs, as well as for enhancing the safety, convenience and enjoyment of highway travelling. Unlike map-based services that require street addresses and zip codes, eXitSource has a data presentation format designed to be user friendly for drivers. Motorists access the database using a simple scroll-and-click text menu to enter the interstate and exit numbers.

Verizon Wireless today launched its nationwide Mobile Web service, which combines the convenience and mobility of wireless communications with popular content from the World Wide Web. The Mobile Web service, which runs on Verizon Wireless' robust and reliable, coast-to-coast CDMA network, gives users access to the Web-based information they want via their wireless handset. Under the terms of the agreement, eXitSource will be one of the top selections under the travel category on Mobile Web handsets. Both companies will be responsible for market education, including advertising and marketing.

Relationship signifies new business focus for eXitSource

The Verizon relationship marks eXitSource's transition into the wireless data market. For years, eXitSource print guides have been preferred and relied upon by commercial drivers - such as professional truck drivers and tour bus operators and drivers - as well as by RV owners/drivers. By supplying uncommon value to their respective memberships, eXitSource has won endorsements from the American Trucking Associations (ATA), National Association of Truck Stop Owners (NATSO), the American Bus Association (ABA) and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA).

In addition, eXitSource data resides "under the hood" of several major location-based service providers and in-vehicle navigational system marketers.
