Gartner Inc. has rated Verizon Business as "Strong Positive" in the industry analyst firm's new "MarketScope for Managed Security Services in Europe."¹
To achieve a "Strong Positive" rating, companies must be "viewed as a provider of strategic products, services or solutions." Customers should continue with planned investments, and potential customers should consider this vendor a strong choice for strategic investments.
Jonathan Nguyen-Duy, Verizon Business' director of global security services, said: "Our customers are leveraging Verizon's expertise and global infrastructure to address a wide range of challenges including cyber threats, regulatory compliance and the adoption of cloud-based computing services. Managed security services are increasingly seen as an integral element of strategic technology investments and an enabler of IT transformation.
"Our technology and security professionals continue to set us apart from the competition, and we are continually investing in new services and infrastructure to better serve our customers."
According to Gartner's report, "With a portfolio of mature basic services and an array of innovative options, the MSS market in Europe is mature with a solid growth perspective, despite - or to some extent because of - a continuously difficult global economic climate. Secure infrastructure management is a prerequisite for businesses that have to cut costs and operate under regulatory scrutiny and tight competition. Outsourcing of security to 'nearshore' or offshore countries has become a normal business option for most organizations.
"These factors have resulted in the MSS market in Europe being forecast to grow at a 14% compound annual growth rate from 2010 to 2014 (with the market size for 2010 forecast at $2.1 billion), which means it is still one of the growth sectors in the IT industry," the report said.
Verizon Business' robust portfolio of security solutions is aimed at helping enterprises and government agencies manage security risk and protect critical company assets. In addition to a wide range of premises- and cloud-based security services, Verizon offers risk and compliance solutions, data loss prevention solutions, identity management solutions, and a complete range of professional services delivered by more than 1,200 security professionals around the globe.
