LEXINGTON, KY - For the second year in a row, Verizon SuperPages™ is spotlighting the Lexington-based Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation on the cover of the Verizon Information Services SuperPages directory. This year's SuperPages is currently being delivered to more than 289,000 homes and businesses in the greater Lexington area.

"The thousands of SuperPages directories we're delivering to the citizens of Lexington both demonstrate our commitment to the community and provide our customers with the information they need to make good decisions every day," said Ed Raad, regional sales vice president for the southeast territory of Verizon Information Services. "We are proud to have been among the earliest supporters of the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation and are pleased to continue that support."

The Verizon SuperPages cover features horses grazing at the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation farm at the Blackburn Correctional Facility, which is currently caring for and rehabilitating more than 70 former racehorses.

"Being featured on the Verizon SuperPages cover last year greatly raised awareness of the work we do and brought us many new supporters" said John Stuart, president of the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation. "We look forward to gaining even more friends and advocates as a result of this year's cover, and we are extremely grateful to Verizon for sharing our dedication to the humane treatment of horses."

Along with its distinctive cover, this year's Verizon SuperPages features an array of helpful special features, including the Inside Look Community Magazine, which showcases area attractions, entertainment, recreation and community services, and the Dining Your Way! restaurant guide, which makes it easy to select local dining establishments. Dining Your Way! features sample menus from more than 80 Lexington-area restaurants and a unique "feature finder" that lists cuisine, location, price, hours and accepted credit cards for each establishment.

The new Lexington SuperPages directory is being distributed to communities throughout Fayette County. Local residents who do not receive their phonebook by March 4, 2002,may call (888) 266-5765 to have one delivered. The Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation will also be featured on the covers of the Versailles directory that covers all of Woodford County and the Nicholasville directory that covers Jessamine County.

In addition to finding local listings in those directories, area residents can log on to Verizon SuperPages.com (www.SuperPages.com), the Internet's leading online directory and shopping resource for millions of local and national business listings. In support of both SuperPages.com and the printed directory, the Lexington directories include the Verizon Internet Guide, a road map to the information superhighway -- complete with Internet searching tips, unique Web sites and Internet-related businesses.
