Local Calling Area for Verizon Customers in Princeton, Pennsylvania Expands To Include Ellwood City

PITTSBURGH - Starting today, the local calling area for Verizon customers in Princeton will now include Ellwood City, allowing those customers to call Ellwood City without paying toll charges.

All telephone calls from Princeton's 924 telephone exchange to Ellwood City exchanges 752, 758, and 824 are now local calls. Princeton customers' local calling area already includes New Castle and Portersville.

Listings for numbers in the Ellwood City exchanges will be included in the June 2003 edition of the Verizon New Wilmington SuperPages telephone directory.

Princeton customers now must dial 10 digits - the area code plus the seven-digit number - when calling Ellwood City. The monthly rates for local phone service will not change for Princeton customers.

Verizon expanded the local calling area for Princeton customers based on customer requests, studies of calling patterns and an agreement with State Rep. Frank LaGrotta's office to eliminate toll charges on calls from Princeton to Ellwood City.

Customers with questions about the change may call Verizon toll-free at 800-483-4000 (for residential customers) or 800-483-5000 (for business customers).
