NEW YORK - Nobody tops Verizon Communications when it comes to providing reliable, state-of-the-art network connections for large wholesale telecommunications customers. That's the finding of the 2005 Atlantic-ACM Wholesale Carrier Report Card, a leading industry survey.

Verizon won the weighted Network category based on direct feedback from its customers, who are asked by Atlantic-ACM to measure how well Verizon and other network providers do against their main competitors. The category is adjusted to reflect the scope and scale of wholesale customers.

"Our mission at Verizon Wholesale Markets is to be a premier full-service provider, and we are pleased that the Atlantic-ACM market research shows that we continue to deliver on our promise," said David J. Small, senior vice president of marketing and sales for Verizon Wholesale Markets, Verizon's wholesale network unit. "It is always gratifying to be recognized as a market leader, and it is even more meaningful when that market perception is validated by direct, independent reports from one's customers."

Quintin Lew, Verizon vice president for access marketing, said his organization will use the Atlantic-ACM research to maintain its formidable edge in operations excellence.

"While we intend to celebrate this important service quality win, Verizon's Wholesale Markets employees will be carefully analyzing our wholesale clients' comments in order to do an even better job in the future of being a provider of choice," Lew said. "Meeting customer requirements is a responsibility we at Verizon take very seriously."

The Atlantic-ACM Wholesale Carrier Report Card analyzes customer feedback in the traditional wholesale telecommunications market as well as in emerging technologies. This comprehensive research provides clients with a broad range of diagnostic, benchmarking and marketing tools.

"Our comprehensive research shows that Verizon was rated highest for quality of its Network service by its large wholesale clients," said Judy Reed Smith, CEO of Atlantic-ACM. "It's clear that large wholesale customers have confidence that the quality of Verizon's network allows them to deliver their products and services to end-users."
