The Long Island business scene is the focus of a new show on Verizon FiOS1 Long Island.

"Money & Main$treet" debuted Monday morning (April 11) on Verizon FiOS1 Long Island, with an insightful look at the business and financial issues on Long Island.

Hosted by Carrie Lee, the 30-minute show will air each business day at 10 a.m.  Verizon FiOS subscribers on Long Island can check the redesigned FiOS1 website - http://fios1news.com/longisland - or their on-screen programming guide for replay times and show schedules.

"This new show takes a practical and in-depth look at the business of Long Island," said Michelle Webb, general manager of FiOS1.  "And while we'll take a look at the larger issues that affect our economy, we will also spotlight local Long Island businesses and residents and tell how they cope with all sorts of financial matters."

Each show will originate from a "Main Street" in a town on Long Island.

In the premiere show, Lee talks and walks on the streets of Sayville with Kay Cameron, owner of Kay Cameron Jewelry, and who heads up the Sayville Revitalization Committee and is a board member of the Sayville Chamber of Commerce.  Next up is a profile of local entrepreneur Lisa Smith, owner of Coquette, a women's boutique in Garden City.

In addition, there is an "Ask the Experts" panel discussion including Lee, Kevin Law, president of the Long Island Association; Michelle Fine of Strategies for Wealth; and Tom Tripodi, who is president of The Tripodi Group and who is affiliated with Prudential Douglas Elliman.  In the final segment, Lee answers questions submitted by Long Islanders on a wide array of financial topics.

Lee, the show's host, has an extensive background in financial reporting, with experience at Dow Jones, CNBC, CNN Headline News and Thompson Reuters.

"Money & Main$treet" is the third new and original program to debut on FiOS1 Long Island in the past several weeks.

"Heroes on Our Island" was launched on the Verizon FiOS1 Long Island channel on March 8, and "Restaurant Hunter" debuted on Feb. 24.  "Heroes" focuses on everyday local heroes across Long Island, and can be seen each Tuesday at 8 p.m.  "Restaurant Hunter" looks at the restaurant and food scene on Long Island, and offers Verizon residential customers Verizon Perks through MyVerizon.com to restaurants featured on the show.  "Restaurant Hunter" airs each Thursday at 8 p.m. on Verizon FiOS1.

All three shows will be rebroadcast several times throughout the week.  FiOS1 Long Island is available on Channel 1 only for Verizon FiOS customers on Long Island.
