NEW JERSEY CUSTOMERS USING BELL ATLANTIC'S RETURN CALL NOW
CAN KNOW THE PHONE NUMBER OF LAST CALL


NEWARK, NJ - New Jersey customers using Bell Atlantic's
Return Call
now can find out, without any special equipment, the phone number of
the last person who called.

Return Call allows customers to automatically return the last incoming
local phone call. The service is activated by dialing *69 or 1169 for
rotary phone users.

As a result of new technology, customers who use Return Call now can
know the phone number they are calling before they return the call.
When customers dial *69, they will first hear a recorded message which
provides the phone number of the last incoming call. If they wish to
return the call immediately, they simply press "1" on a
Touch-Tone
phone. Return Call will dial the number for them. Customers using this
service on a per-use basis will be charged when they dial *69, whether
or not they return the call.

"By using Return Call, customers will always know who just called.
They now can return the call immediately, later or not at all. It
also helps them control who they want to talk to and when," said
Shelly Scheerschmidt, Bell Atlantic product manager.

Residential customers can subscribe to Return Call for $4 a month;
business customers can subscribe for $6 a month. Or customers can pay
as they go, at 75 cents per use.

"Our new Return Call complements Caller ID," Scheerschmidt
said.
"Caller ID display units store phone numbers, allowing customers to
see the numbers of all the unblocked calls they receive. Return Call
provides customers with the phone number of the last call from any
phone in the house. It also works well with Call Waiting, allowing
you to find out who called while you were on another call, even if you
didn't take the second call."

Callers may block the disclosure of their telephone numbers to Return
Call users by dialing *67 (1167 on rotary telephones) prior to making
each telephone call. Customers with non-published listings who wish to
prevent the disclosure of their number to all Return Call users can
request free per-line blocking by calling their local Bell Atlantic
business office.

The new enhancement to Return Call was introduced to Bell Atlantic
customers in Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and the District of
Columbia in 1995. It is expected to be available to customers in
Pennsylvania and Delaware later this year.
