Shoppers Can Test Drive Verizon's All-Fiber FiOS TV and Internet Services at New Facility in Newport News, Va.

Peninsula residents now can experience first-hand the superior quality and innovative, interactive features of Verizon's all-fiber-optic FiOS TV and FiOS Internet services by visiting the company's new FiOS kiosk in Newport News.

Located in the Patrick Henry Mall on Jefferson Avenue, the kiosk showcases Verizon's award-winning FiOS Internet and FiOS TV services.  Visitors can observe the extraordinary picture clarity and theater-quality sound of FiOS TV and experience, with FiOS Internet service, the fastest broadband download and upload connection speeds in the Hampton Roads.

Verizon representatives are on hand to demonstrate the unique features of FiOS, answer questions and help shoppers place orders for new services.  Current customers also can pick up or return FiOS TV set-top boxes, pay their Verizon bills and consult with representatives.  The kiosk is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.

"Our newest FiOS kiosk enables shoppers to see up close what sets FiOS TV and FiOS Internet apart from shoppers' old-fashioned cable provider," said Mary Yarbrough, senior vice president of alternate channels for Verizon's East region.  "Our current customers will appreciate the convenience of a location where they can conduct business easily, and potential customers will have an easy and fun way to witness how different and exciting the FiOS experience is."

In the Hampton Roads area, Verizon's FiOS TV and FiOS Internet are available in much of Newport News, Hampton, Poquoson and York County, as well as in parts of Chesapeake, Portsmouth and Virginia Beach.  FiOS services also are available in much of the Richmond and northern Virginia areas.

FiOS TV offers consumers a broad range of programming choices and superior picture quality from Verizon, the only company in the Hampton Roads providing voice, broadband and entertainment services over an advanced, all-fiber-optic network straight to customers' homes and businesses.

FiOS TV was recently selected as the top-ranked residential television service in the East region for 2010 by J.D. Power and Associates, capturing the top spot for the third year in a row.  The service received five Power Circle Ratings - the top rating - in overall satisfaction, performance and reliability, and offerings and promotions.

Verizon's FiOS TV service offers a broad collection of all-digital programming, with more than 520 total channels, including up to 130 high-definition channels in the Hampton Roads area.  FiOS TV also offers more than 18,000 video-on-demand titles each month, including 3,300 in HD.  In addition, FiOS provides next-generation interactive services including an advanced interactive media guide; social networking, news and entertainment widgets; remote DVR management via broadband or mobile phone; and more.

Just last month, Verizon launched Flex View, an innovative feature that gives FiOS TV customers anytime, anywhere access to a growing number of video-on-demand movies on their TV, laptop, PC, smartphone or tablet.
