NEW YORK – Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE, Nasdaq: VZ) today announced the election of Kathryn A. Tesija, executive vice president of merchandising and supply chain at Target Corp. (NYSE: TGT), to the Verizon Board of Directors, effective immediately.
"Kathee Tesija brings to Verizon her valuable consumer insight as well as significant experience in managing the complex, large-scale, global retail functions of merchandising and supply chain," said Lowell C. McAdam, Verizon chairman and chief executive officer. "We are delighted to have the benefit of her leadership perspective and guidance."
The addition of Tesija brings Verizon's total board membership to 12.
Tesija joined Target in 1986 and has held a variety of leadership positions within merchandising. She is a member of Target's executive committee and currently oversees all merchandising functions, including product design and development, sourcing, inventory management, merchandising systems, presentation and operations, as well as the company's global supply chain. Tesija received her bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin - Stout.
