BASKING RIDGE, N.J. -- Large businesses will be able to automate ordering, monitoring and trouble-shooting of communications services more simply and effectively through a new Verizon Business eBonding interface announced today.
The service option is the result of Verizon Business’ new relationships with six key providers of telecommunications expense-management (TEM) software: Cerylion, MBG Expense Management LLC, PAETEC Communications Inc., Rivermine Inc., Tangoe and Telesoft Corp.
“Companies can now use any of these popular TEM software vendors as an ‘on ramp’ to link with Verizon Business, providing yet another option in Verizon Business’ portfolio of eBonding capabilities,” said Tom Vitale, vice president of customer enablement & cross-product support for Verizon Business. “The strategic vendor-partner program we’ve established with these leading software suppliers enables our customers to implement their software of choice to manage their overall telecom expenses while enhancing their eBonding relationship with Verizon Business.
“By introducing a wide range of TEM software on its eBonding platform, Verizon Business is helping to create another simple end-to-end solution that requires minimal customer investment,” Vitale said.
Many Verizon Business customers are already using software programs from these providers. With the new eBonding enhancement, customers can use their existing software to link directly to Verizon Business’ networks and systems via one end- to-end interface. This eliminates the need for customers to shift from one program to another to monitor communications and associated expenses, as well as the need to purchase additional costly equipment.
Customers can also link to Verizon Business via their own systems or a Web Services gateway.
The eBonding platform enables Verizon Business customers to automate day-to-day functions involving their Verizon Business communications and information technology (IT) services that previously would have required manual intervention. For example, by eBonding with Verizon Business, customers can monitor their networks and be automatically notified in the event of a problem. Customers can also use eBonding to do things like make changes to their service, monitor trends and pay bills.
Verizon Business delivers a comprehensive suite of real-time application integration and data-exchange tools including trouble management, circuit testing, order status and inventory reporting. Collectively, these services help enterprise customers streamline communications, improve ease of use, reduce costs through automation of manual processes, and lead to more accurate resolution of network-management issues.
"This is a win-win development for enterprises wanting to more closely manage applications and their associated expenses," said Joe Basili, research director for the Aberdeen Group. "Enterprises report they only manage 67 percent of their spend; through this initiative, Verizon Business is opening up end-to-end IT procurement and service management and enabling a complete life-cycle approach to managing communications spending."
Verizon Business offers a portal to its services for customers who want the same support through a desktop application. Verizon Business will continue to offer additional enhancements to its Customer Enablement services to deliver online, automatic customer care. Verizon Business’ commitment to the large-business and government market goes beyond technology. It is transforming its entire business model — including improved processes, a common interface and unified service management.
Verizon Business works closely with customers to prepare for the eBonding process, including providing project management, data mapping, design, deployment, testing, and ongoing operational support and maintenance. Verizon Business also offers a turnkey Web Services gateway option, pre-certified with Verizon Business eBonding Services to help simplify customer-side deployment and ensure on-time, on-budget implementations.
