Verizon Global Wholesale Ranked No. 1 in Voice Value

Capturing the highest ratings, Verizon Global Wholesale has been rated No. 1 among U.S.-based incumbent local exchange carriers (ILECs) for Voice Value by its customers in the Atlantic-ACM 2010 Metro Wholesale Report Card.

The award - presented Monday (Sept. 13) at the opening session of the COMPTEL PLUS Fall 2010 Convention & Expo here - reflects a combination of overall product quality and product price competitiveness. It is based on surveys collected from more than 1,500 wholesale customer ratings and evaluated by Atlantic-ACM, a Boston-based strategic consulting and research firm.

"This recognition underscores Verizon's ability to successfully serve the wholesale market with the highest caliber of products and services at competitive prices," said John Howard, director of marketing for Verizon Global Wholesale, who accepted the award. "We take our leadership seriously and will continue to serve our customers by building performance and value into our wide range of offerings."

In the survey, Verizon also led in the areas of collocation quality and price competitiveness, receiving the highest numerical average ratings from customers. Verizon offers a variety of interconnection services, including physical, virtual and wireless interconnections as well as house and riser service for both facilities-based and non-facilities-based providers.

"Positive reviews for overall voice quality and select data products show that customers are pleased with the value delivered by Verizon Global Wholesale," said Atlantic-ACM CEO Judy Reed Smith. "Overall perceptions of ILEC operations improved from 2009 to 2010, but Verizon proved exemplary, with above average year-over-year improvements of customer perceptions in all operational categories."

Verizon Global Wholesale has played a major role in helping shape the wholesale business into the thriving marketplace it is today by providing offerings ranging from traditional voice services to complex data technologies and value-added services. Verizon's comprehensive voice product suite includes domestic and international calling, E911, toll free, unbundled access and egress, as well as special access services.
