DALLAS - Verizon Information Services, the world's leading directory publisher and creator of SuperPages.com, announced today that SuperPages.com received a record number of unique visitors for the fourth month in a row. With more than 6.8 million monthly unique visitors at home and at work in September, SuperPages.com has more than doubled its unique visitors since January 2001, according to Media Metrix.

In September, SuperPages.com ranked #1 in the Directory category and #41 among the Top 100 Web sites* as measured by Nielsen NetRatings. In recent months, the site has consistently been ranked as the leading online directory in its category.

"SuperPages.com is clearly the most accessed directory site on the Internet," said Patrick Marshall, group vice president - marketing for Verizon Information Services. "Our traffic reports consistently reinforce Verizon's position as the leader in the online directory space."

In 2001, Verizon Information Services has signed agreements that designate SuperPages.com as the Yellow Pages service provider for some of the top properties on the Internet, including MSN, InfoSpace, Alta Vista, Ask Jeeves and Excite. In addition, organic traffic to SuperPages.com has increased 50 percent since January, indicating a significant increase in SuperPages.com's brand recognition and awareness. Organic traffic is generally defined as traffic that comes directly into the superpages.com domain - rather than from one of Verizon's partners.

"Our continued traffic growth proves that our strategies are working. By increasing our usage and reach, we are increasing the value for SuperPages.com advertisers," said Marshall.
