Verizon Launches Anime Network on FiOS TV VOD

Verizon's FiOS TV customers now have on-demand access to the cultural phenomenon of Japanese animation known as "anime," with the launch of the Anime Network on FiOS TV Video on Demand.  Now available to all FiOS TV subscribers, the Anime Network offers at least 45 hours of original programming every month, with new content added every week.  Anime Network is available on demand to FiOS TV customers for $6.99 a month.

"We always look for niche programming that will appeal to our FiOS TV customers, and the addition of the Anime Network will certainly help expand our VOD lineup," said Terry Denson, vice president of content strategy and acquisition for Verizon.  "With one of the largest VOD offerings in the industry, Verizon's FiOS TV customers have access to a variety of programming available at their fingertips."

Stacy Dodson, vice president of the Anime Network, said, "Anime Network is thrilled to bring our special brand of entertainment to the Verizon FiOS TV experience, giving our fans a chance to catch their favorite Anime Network shows on demand.  With the addition of FiOS TV, we are now available to over 43 million VOD-enabled households, and we look forward to working with Verizon in reaching even more viewers as part of their cutting-edge service."

Anime Network offers a variety of hit shows on demand, such as "High School of the Dead," "Samurai Girls," "Xam'd," "Canaan," "Blue Drop," "E's Otherwise," "Kino's Journey," "Glass Mask," "Maria Holic" and "Legends of the Dark King."
