Verizon Launches FiOS Internet Service Informational Web Site for Chinese and Korean-Speaking Customers

NEW YORK - Verizon today launched two Web portals for its Chinese and Korean-speaking customers so they can get information in their languages about the company's high-speed FiOS Internet services. Chinese-speaking customers can visit www.verizon.com/FiOS/Chinese and Korean-speaking customers can visit www.verizon.com/FiOS/Korean to see if they qualify for Verizon's fiber-optic Internet connection, which leaves the cable companies in the dust.

Chinese-speaking customers have the option to read traditional or simplified Chinese characters on the FiOS Internet Services Web site.

Verizon FiOS offers a variety of connection speeds, ranging from up to 5 Mbps (megabits per second) downstream and 2 Mbps upstream to up to 30 Mbps downstream and 5 Mbps upstream, with prices starting as low as $34.95 per month. The new Chinese and Korean language Web sites provide specific information about what packages and pricing are available at a customer's location.

All Verizon FiOS Internet packages include free installation for a customer's primary computer, wireless router, 24/7 live technical support, choice of Verizon Yahoo! or MSN Premium service, 30-day money-back guarantee, 9 e-mail accounts, and access to a variety of video, music, games and other entertainment services through Verizon's Broadband Beat online entertainment center.

Verizon offers FiOS Internet and, in more and more areas, FiOS TV services over the company's fiber-to-the-premises (FTTP) network - the only network that currently brings fiber-optic technology directly to homes and businesses on a widespread scale.
