Verizon continues to deliver the best in class for FiOS TV customers by launching Zona Latina, the first one-stop shop for FiOS' Spanish-language programming. Available only from Verizon, Zona Latina provides easy, convenient access from the FiOS TV remote to sports, international news, free video-on-demand titles, Hispanic music, Univision's exclusive coverage of the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ and Verizon's Spanish Language Package.
"Once again, Verizon is demonstrating our commitment to personalize the TV experience by offering customers choices and flexibility," said Shawn Strickland, vice president of consumer strategy for Verizon. "This Spanish-language interactive destination addresses our customers' needs and puts them in the driver's seat, letting them enjoy TV the way they want and expect."
Located on the FiOS TV Widget home screen and in the featured section of FiOS TV Widgets, Zona Latina offers access to Spanish-language programming including an interactive guide, premium movies and video-on-demand (VOD) titles. Music lovers can link to Latin music channels, and soccer fans can follow Univision's exclusive Spanish-language coverage of the 2010 FIFA World Cup™, including match replays and the latest tournament news.
Zona Latina will also offer headline news from South America, and there are plans to add additional features in Spanish in the coming months to further enhance and personalize the customer experience.
Customers who enjoy programming in Spanish also can use Zona Latina to learn about Verizon's Spanish Language Package, which offers 27 popular Spanish channels such as Galavisión, ESPN Deportes, Gol TV, CNN en español, Discovery Familia and other family favorites.
The Spanish Language package, available for $11.99 per month, also features channels such as La Familia Cosmovisio - with programming that honors Hispanic culture through music, children's programs and talk shows - and Canal Sur, a unique source for news broadcasts and a variety of programs originating in Mexico, Central and South America, and the Caribbean. Subscribers can purchase the package by using the FiOS TV remote control, without having to pick up the phone.
Verizon also offers customers the La Conexión triple-play bundle, which provides customers with FiOS TV featuring more than 175 music, sports, movie and local channels, including Telemundo, Univision and Telefutura; FiOS Internet with speeds of up to 15 megabits per second (Mbps) download and up to 5 Mbps upload; and Verizon phone service with unlimited nationwide residential calling. Prices start at $89.99 per month and are guaranteed for two years.
New FiOS consumers who order a Verizon bundle as part of a two-year contract can take advantage of the 30-day FiOS Worry-Free Guarantee, allowing them to cancel their service within 30 days of the date of activation, with no termination fee.
As an added bonus, customers who order their package online at www.verizon.com/espanol will receive an additional $5 savings a month for a total of $120 with a two-year agreement.
