NEW YORK - Verizon is changing its operator services group to LiveSourcesm, a new name that better reflects the company's expanded offering of enhanced services to wholesale customers.
Sophisticated infrastructure, skilled workers and access to extensive databases enable Verizon to offer an array of information services beyond just phone numbers, including restaurant and movie listings, weather information and sports scores. These services are attractive to wireless companies, competitive local exchange carriers and long distance carriers.
"More than ever, we can give our wholesale customers a real competitive edge with our enhanced services," said Kitty Linder, president of Verizon LiveSource. "We've come a long way from just manually completing calls and giving out phone numbers. We're now a full service provider of content, access and delivery, and our product selection includes enhanced services, databases and mechanized capabilities. So we're changing our name from Verizon Operator Services to Verizon LiveSource."
