NEW YORK -- Verizon (NYSE: VZ) is launching a tour of leading Mid-Atlantic and Northeast shopping centers to give consumers the opportunity to see first-hand the ease and speed of using Verizon Online DSL, beginning this Saturday, Oct. 21, at the White Flint Mall in Rockville, Md.

Experts will be on-site to explain the service. They will be using Verizon Online DSL-driven NetVista* Personal Computers from IBM and WireSpeed* DSL modems from Westell. More importantly, consumers will be able to surf the Web themselves and witness the amazing speeds delivered by Verizon Online DSL (www.verizon.com/dsl).

"The demand for broadband capability at home is growing like never before," said Marianne Berry, vice president - Marketing for Verizon Online. "Whether you are telecommuting, doing homework or getting a head-start on your holiday shopping, we are increasingly living in a world that is easier to navigate with greater bandwidth. Verizon Online DSL is giving users the speed they need at a price they can afford. Seeing is believing."

The first stop on the tour will be at the White Flint Mall in Rockville, Md. - Oct. 20-22. This will be followed by a stop at the Westchester Mall in Westchester, N.Y., on Oct. 27. A visit to the South Shore Plaza in Braintree, Mass., is scheduled for Nov. 3-5.

In addition to being able to order Verizon Online DSL on the spot, consumers will have the opportunity to win prizes, including a mountain bike and Web cameras.

Verizon Online Personal DSL, the company's most popular DSL product, is available for only $39.95 a month. DSL (digital subscriber line) users experience the Internet at speeds many times faster than a traditional dial-up connection using a 56K modem. DSL also allows subscribers to talk on the phone and surf the Internet simultaneously over a single telephone line and provides a more secure connection than shared systems used by cable modems. DSL users have their own line to the telephone central office so they're not competing with neighbors who share bandwidth when they use the same cable modem service.

Information about Verizon Online DSL is available online at www.verizon.com/dsl or by calling 877-525-2375.
