Verizon Posts Help Wanted Signs in New Jersey: 120 Customer Service Reps Needed to Handle Surging Demand for FiOS and Traditional Broadband, TV and Voice Products and Services

NEWARK, N.J. -- To accommodate the surging demand for its stellar new TV, broadband and voice communications services, Verizon is looking to hire 120 new customer service representatives in New Jersey, at call centers in Madison and Hamilton Township.

"We're in the midst of a fiber-optic revolution in New Jersey, and we need great, new people to help us keep up the momentum," said William Foshay, Verizon's general manager for the New Jersey region.  "Each and every day, we're taking away more and more customers from cable companies.  These new additions to the Verizon family will help us to continue to foster choice and competition, as well as improve customer service across the board."

Verizon is looking to add 70 representatives in its Hamilton Mega Call Center in Mercer County and 50 in its Madison call center in Morris County.  The job postings come as the company continues to aggressively roll out its new fiber network in areas throughout the state.  Currently, Verizon is selling its industry-leading FiOS TV service in 180 communities, with many more soon to come.

"These jobs are a great opportunity for someone looking to be a part of technology advancements on the cutting edge," said Dennis Bone, president of Verizon New Jersey.  "The candidates need excellent communication skills and should be motivated to revolutionize communications for the home and business."

Verizon's customer service representatives handle requests from new and current customers for installation, billing and changes to existing services.  The new jobs are full-time positions.  Paid training is provided.  Computer literacy is required.  Wages start at $474 a week, with increases every six months to a top wage of $1,048 per week.

Verizon is holding informational open houses and testing in its Madison and Hamilton call centers Saturday, April 28, starting at 9 a.m.  The Madison center is located at 175 Park Ave., Madison. The Hamilton center is located at 600 Horizon Drive, Hamilton Township.   Potential candidates can apply and schedule testing at www.verizon.com/careers.
