BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Consumers now can order customized calling packages that include DIRECTV service by just calling a Verizon customer service representative. Previously, the discounted packages of calling and DIRECTV were only available through Verizon Plus stores and special toll-free numbers.

Verizon representatives at all call centers can help customers create the best packages that include local, regional toll, long-distance, dial-up or high-speed Internet access and DIRECTV service, with savings as much as $370 a year-- compared with purchasing the same or equivalent Verizon services at individual, standard rates.

In addition, Verizon's multilingual service centers are ready to assist customers in four languages (Spanish, Korean, Mandarin and Vietnamese). The phone numbers of Verizon's call centers, including those that provide multilingual service, are listed on customer bills and are also on Verizon's Web site at www.verizon.com.

Also, customers with disabilities can be assisted by Verizon's Center for Customers with Disabilities by calling 1-800-974-6006 (V/TTY).

"Our customer service centers offer personalized and customized suggestions for Verizon customers," said Bob Ingalls, president of Verizon's Retail Markets Group. "Our representatives work with customers to help them put together packages that make sense to save them money and time. Adding DIRECTV service to our package options greatly increases the choices available to customers and makes our bundles more valuable. We have a clear-cut business strategy to retain our customers and win new ones with our packages."

The more services Verizon customers select, the greater the savings they receive. For example, customers can choose the Verizon Freedom package, which includes unlimited domestic calling and five call-management features, and receive a monthly discount when they also order DIRECTV service. In addition, customers who buy dial-up or high-speed DSL with Verizon Freedom receive an even greater discount when they also order DIRECTV service.

Initially, customers will receive the respective discounts on their Verizon and DIRECTV billing statements. Later this year, Verizon and DIRECTV expect to offer a single, integrated Verizon bill.
