Verizon SuperPages.com Introduces New Residential White Pages Service

DALLAS, Texas -- Verizon Information Services, the world's largest directory publishing company with approximately $4.1 billion in annual revenues, recently launched PeoplePages, a free white pages search function located on SuperPages.com. PeoplePages is a nationwide database of residential addresses, phone numbers, e-mail addresses and linkages back to local Yellow Page listings.
"As the leading online directory on the Internet, it's our goal to help consumers find what they want and need. Whether they want information on a local business, shopping tips, driving directions or a phone number for a neighbor, consumers can find it on SuperPages.com," says Patrick Marshall, vice president - marketing of Verizon Information Services. "PeoplePages is another tool that our customers can use to make the Net more navigable."
PeoplePages allows consumers to remove, add or modify their online listings. In addition to this function, consumers can also customize their own personal directory of contacts by saving addresses and phone numbers directly in their address book. By clicking on the "more info" link immediately to the right of any white pages listing, user can access local area information such as restaurants, theatres, shopping centers, florists and banks.
As part of its strategy to capitalize on the strengths of Bell Atlantic and GTE, Verizon Information Services will integrate its online directory services under the SuperPages.com brand. GTE SuperPages.com and Bell Atlantic BigYellow.com will remain separate and operational until this fall when the new SuperPages.com is expected to launch. Verizon SuperPages.com will be a combination of the best elements of GTE SuperPages.com and Bell Atlantic BigYellow.com.
