Service Provides Better Clarity, Larger Reception Area

Verizon Wireless customers in Abingdon now have access to the latest in digital technologies through Verizon Wireless' new digital wireless communication service.
"With the addition of digital service, we are able to provide more thorough service to our Abingdon customers than ever before," said Verizon Wireless' East Tennessee retail general manager Ryan Chandler.
"I think our customers will notice a sizeable difference in the benefits that go along with digital service and will be very pleased with all this service has to offer," added Chandler.
Some of the benefits Abingdon customers will now be able to take advantage of through Verizon Wireless' digital service are improved and extended digital coverage in Abingdon north to Interstate 81, clearer and wider-ranging reception, and batteries that last much longer due to the lower amount of power required for digital phones. Customers can also enjoy numerous data capabilities such as SingleRate National, MobileWeb and e-mail access, detailed caller I.D. and laptop hook-up.
According to Chandler, Verizon Wireless previously offered only analog services to its Abingdon customers. With the addition of digital service, all Verizon Wireless' digital phones are capable of receiving service not only in digital areas, but in analog areas as well.
