Verizon Wireless customers throughout New Mexico are now able to reap the benefits of a significantly faster, more robust wireless data experience, with the company's latest expansion of its Express NetworkSM.

Verizon Wireless maintains a commanding lead in the high-speed wireless data arena with Express Network service now available in over 800 cities, from Maine to Hawaii. New communities in New Mexico added to the Express Network are: metro Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Los Alamos, Espanola, Taos, Grants, Las Cruces, Deming, Lordsburg, Silver City, Alamogordo, Tularosa, Ruidoso and Socorro.

Verizon Wireless' Express Network enhances all interactive wireless data communications - from email to intranet to full Internet access. The high-speed, national network also supports enterprise applications, giving companies with mobile employees access to tools for increased productivity and efficiency. Verizon Wireless Express Network customers can expect speeds similar to or better than what users experience when dialing in from their home PC - average data transmission speeds between 40 and 60 kilobits per second (kbps) with bursts up to 144 kbps.

"With the freedom and flexibility that Verizon Wireless' Express Network service affords, being out of the office no longer means being out of the loop," said Marni Walden, regional president, Verizon Wireless. "It's about increased productivity when traveling throughout New Mexico or in more than 800 cities and towns throughout the nation - no more worries about finding a phone jack or not having remote access to important files."

Pricing Plans

Verizon Wireless offers a variety of pricing structures, including a plan that offers unlimited Express Network usage for a flat rate of $99.99 per month, with some restrictions. Customers can also sign up for time-based usage plans, which begin at $35 monthly access for 150 minutes for voice or data calls, up to $55 and $75 monthly access, which include 400 and 600 minutes respectively. Verizon Wireless offers business customers pricing based on megabyte usage, with rate plans starting at $35 monthly access for 10 MB, $55 monthly access for 20 MB, and $75 monthly access for 40 MB of data sent and received on the Express Network.

Equipment Choices

Along with the freedom of widespread availability, Express Network customers have a choice of affordable equipment options to best suit their individual needs - phones, PDA and PC cards. The device options Verizon Wireless offers have been field tested and refined, and have been helping to deliver a high quality wireless data experience for Verizon Wireless customers. The Verizon Wireless 2235 handset from Kyocera, the VX1 by LG and the 9155-GPX from Audiovox, are compact wireless phones that function as a modem to access the Express Network, when used with a laptop and a compatible Mobile Office connectivity kit, sold separately.

The latest Express Network-compatible handset, the Motorola T720, also offers Get It NowSM compatibility with a color display, interchangeable front and rear covers and is GPS-enabled for E911 emergency services (where available). Get It Now allows customers to download a variety of games, entertainment and productivity applications over the air onto their phone.

With the Thera, the newest Windows-Powered Pocket PC, consumers can make voice calls, access the Express Network or surf the Web. For customers who prefer a PC card for wireless data access, the AirCard 555 from Sierra Wireless can be used with laptops and select PDAs to access the Express Network.
