Verizon Wireless, the nation's largest wireless provider, today introduced new nationwide, flat-rate pricing options for consumers and businesses in Eastern Iowa who want competitive, predictable coast-to-coast pricing with no roaming or long distance charges. The new SingleRateSM calling plans now give Verizon Wireless customers in Waterloo, Cedar Rapids, Iowa City and Dubuque, access to some of the most popular pricing available in the wireless industry.

"Customers in Eastern Iowa will be able to call anywhere, anytime in the United States with their monthly allowance of minutes," said Tim Wolfe, District Manager of Retail Sales for Verizon Wireless in Iowa. "These new price plans effectively make every wireless call a local call."

Traditionally, many wireless calling plans require customers to pay separate long-distance charges for incoming and outgoing calls outside the local area, and roaming charges when traveling outside the designated home area.

Verizon Wireless' SingleRateSM plans eliminate uncertainty and guarantees that customers won't be surprised by unexpected roaming and long distance charges on their monthly bill.

The new family of five flat-rate price plans provides some of the best values in the industry for national wireless plans - $35 per month for 150 minutes. Customers also can select large bundles of minutes based on their usage requirements - up to 2,000 minutes for $200 per month.

With Verizon Wireless SingleRateSM Plans and handsets, customers will have full access to the company's coast-to-coast network, which covers 96 of the top 100 markets with service available to close to 90 percent of the United States population.

To take advantage of the new SingleRateSM plans, customers must use a tri-mode phone. Tri-mode handsets are available in several models at any Verizon Wireless Communications store or retailer. During the holidays, Verizon Wireless is offering a "Buy One Get One Free" tri-mode digital phone promotion featuring the NOKIA 5185i for $49.99. The phone features personalized snap-on faceplates with color options.

"Customers in Eastern Iowa have never had this much freedom and flexibility with their wireless service," Wolfe said. "For many, it will change the way they communicate and stay in touch."
