In response to the growing demand for the company's voice and data products and services, Verizon Wireless, the nation's largest wireless provider, has opened a new store located at the Meriden Square Mall. The store is the company's 15th retail location to open in Connecticut.

"Demand for our wireless services is growing steadily, as more people take advantage of digital calling plans like SingleRatesm and our popular Mobile Web services," said Cindy Young, store manager.

The store is open from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from
11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.

Located in the mall next to the Center Court, the store is the first in the area to showcase the company's new Verizon Wireless look featuring an open layout that surrounds customers with a wide variety of wireless products and services. These include a premier line of digital wireless phones, wireless data services for on-the-go access to the Internet and hands-free accessories that promote responsible driving.

This month, Verizon Wireless is offering new customers that sign an annual agreement 3,000 Night and Weekend home airtime minutes on local DigitalChoice® and SingleRate East plans, all starting at $35 monthly access rates and higher.
"We're located off Lewis Street, making it more convenient for residents in the surrounding areas to shop for wireless," Young said. "The new store layout provides separate areas for technical support and customer service to provide customers with faster service."

The Meriden Square Mall Communications Store is one of six new retail locations Verizon Wireless plans to open this year in Connecticut to make shopping for wireless products and services easier and more convenient for customers. The new stores also will create more than 50 sales and customer service positions as well as business opportunities for local construction, architectural and real estate firms.
