Verizon Wireless Sponsors Domestic Violence Prevention Benefit

Verizon Wireless has announced its sponsorship of the 12th Annual Brewers' Wives Tailgate, a benefit for Milwaukee's Sojourner Truth House, scheduled for June 29 at Miller Park.
The Friday evening event includes a tailgate dinner, silent auction, raffle and tickets to the Milwaukee Brewers game with the Houston Astros. The tailgate buffet from Milwaukee's Venice Club will be served between 4:30 and 6:45 p.m. The game begins at 7:05 p.m.
Tickets for the 12th Annual Brewers Wives Tailgate can be obtained by contacting Sojourner Truth House at 414/643-1777.
"Verizon Wireless has a long history of supporting domestic violence programs and initiatives on the local, regional and national levels," said Greg Klimek, Illinois/Wisconsin Regional President for Verizon Wireless. "Sojourner Truth House provides much needed support to domestic violence victims, and important prevention and education tools to others. We're pleased to be involved with the Brewer organization and the new Miller Park in hosting this enjoyable and very worthwhile community event."
Verizon Wireless provides emergency phones for domestic violence shelters and organizations in the Milwaukee and Madison areas. Through another corporate initiative, Verizon Wireless provides the local business community with posters and related materials to build awareness in the workplace for the ways to detect and prevent domestic violence.
Sojourner Truth House is Milwaukee's oldest and largest domestic shelter for battered women and their children. The organization also provides services for domestic violence prevention programs.
