Verizon's FiOS TV customers in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and beyond are now a widget away from getting the location and phone number for a pizzeria, florist or other business in their neighborhood or across the country.

Verizon has introduced the Visual 411 widget as part of the company's expansion of the Widget Bazaar Applications Marketplace and to provide an easy way for Metroplex FiOS TV households to connect with local businesses or search out companies nationwide.  "The beauty of Visual 411 is that it's simple and fun to use while watching your favorite TV show," said Pedro Correa president of Verizon LiveSource, creator of the Visual 411 Widget. "You can order a pizza or check out what's playing at a local movie theater while watching TV."

The Visual 411 widget allows customers to search by business name, type of business or keywords such as automotive or florist, for example. With the FiOS TV remote control, users can access the menu-driven feature and easily navigate through a type of business search. There is an onscreen keyboard, for those who prefer to enter a business name or keyword.  Users can also change search locations and look up recent searches.

The FiOS TV screen also displays a location map in much the same way an online search option does and displays the address and phone number even as viewers continue to enjoy the show they are watching.  To access the widget, users can go to the Widget Bazaar and scroll down to the Visual 411 application and select it.
