NEW YORK -- Verizon has added more high-definition programming to the FiOS TV lineup, with the launch of four new HD channels in the MLB Extra Inningssm package. FiOS TV customers who subscribe to the MLB Extra Innings package will now have access to a total of nine HD channels, providing a way to watch nearly every Major League Baseball game in HD.
The MLB Extra Innings package enables consumers to watch baseball games that are not available in their local markets, making it ideal for baseball fans – especially those who have an affinity for a team outside of their city or want to track their fantasy league players. The subscription package features up to 80 out-of-market games each week during the regular season, as well as dual feeds of select games so that viewers can choose hometown announcers. Plus, with nine HD baseball channels now available on FiOS TV, the MLB Extra Innings package provides customers with up to 75 out-of-market games each week in HD. The games offered via MLB Extra Innings are in addition to those games carried by FOX, ESPN, TBS, MLB Network, and those of your local team.

FiOS TV customers who want to check out MLB Extra Innings can do so beginning April 1, when Verizon will be offering a free preview. Any FiOS TV customer will be able to watch all of the standard-definition channels available with the package, from April 1-7.
Customers who order MLB Extra Innings by April 7 qualify for an early bird price of $199 for the season. The package can be ordered by tuning to one of the MLB Extra Innings channels 1475 thru 1488. HD games air on FiOS TV Channels 1466-1474.
The launch of these four new HD channels is part of a larger effort to expand FiOS TV’s overall HD offering, with plans to add more HD channels in the coming months. FiOS TV currently offers more than 575 channels, including more than 160 in HD.
