Verizon and Ericsson were named winners of the Smart Service Provider – Business Transformation of the Year Award for their collaboration to develop Verizon’s Virtual Network Services solution. Verizon’s Virtual Network Services solution features Ericsson Dynamic Orchestration and can help customers introduce new software-defined networking services quickly, without having to engage with multiple vendors, while controlling costs and generating positive business outcomes faster. The award was presented at the TM Forum Live! 2017 conference in Nice, France on May 15.

“Developing the best solutions is often the result of collaborating with the best companies,” said Shawn Hakl, vice president of new products and innovation at Verizon. “We’re honored to receive this award alongside our friends at Ericsson and we look forward to continuing to work together to bring exciting new solutions to market.”

Ulf Ewaldsson, Head of Business Area Digital Services at Ericsson, said. “This is rewarding for the teams who have worked so hard to bring benefits to Verizon’s customers. Today, we’ll take the chance to celebrate but keep driving this project at high speed to support the digital transformation of Verizon’s customers.”

Since 2007, TM Forum’s Excellence Awards have recognized the world’s leading companies for their innovative achievements spanning digital transformation, business and IT agility, customer centricity, cross-industry partnering and collaboration, and product and services innovation.

Verizon and Ericsson were recognized in the Digital Service Innovation category that recognizes organizations for successfully delivering innovations with tangible business, industry and society impact.
