SCHAUMBURG, IL — Verizon Wireless has named Wayne W. White president - Michigan Region, Great Lakes Area, Verizon Wireless. White is responsible for the company's operations throughout the state of Michigan.
Previously, White served as vice president - sales & marketing for a Chicago, Illinois-based Internet start-up company that integrates global positioning, wireless communications and the Internet to provide personal location and monitoring services to parents with young children. Prior to that, he held various leadership positions with Ameritech Corporation in its call center, prepaid card services and long distance marketing operations as well as with General Electric in sales, product development, marketing and general management functions.
A native of Philadelphia, White and his family reside in Lakewood, Ill. They plan to relocate to the Detroit area soon. White holds a master's of business administration in marketing from Case Western Reserve University as well as a master's degree in telecommunications and a bachelor's degree in engineering from the University of Pittsburgh.
