HIALEAH, FL — Verizon Wireless, the nation's largest wireless communications provider, has opened a 5,000-square-foot store in Hialeah, the company's newest and largest retail location in the state.
The free-standing store is twice the size of a typical Verizon Wireless outlet to better serve the busy Hialeah market and stand out amid the area's highly competitive retail environment.
"This is a dynamic, important market for us, and a larger store allows for more products and staff to better serve our customers," said Mike Lanman, Florida region president of Verizon Wireless. "Also, almost every major national and big box retailer lines this Palm Springs Mile in front of our store. To establish a dominating presence, we needed to go big."
In addition, Hialeah's central location will allow the store to serve as a hub among Verizon Wireless' 16 South Florida retail outlets.
A grand opening celebration is planned for March 23 and 24, with festivities including music, food, refreshments, contests, children's activities, special discounts and giveaways. Miami Dolphins star Richmond Webb will be signing autographs at the store between noon and 4 p.m. on the 24th.
The store, located at 821 West 49th Street, is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. The telephone number is (305) 819-6443.
