Verizon Wireless Opens Retail Store In North Knoxville

KNOXVILLE, TN — Verizon Wireless, the nation's largest wireless communications provider, will mark the opening of its new retail store in Knoxville with store celebrations January 18-20.

"When we open our doors in Knoxville, our customers will see the latest wireless products and services surrounded by a spacious, customer-friendly floor plan," said Ryan Chandler, Verizon Wireless district manager, retail, for East Tennessee. "Knoxville has been a very good market for us, and the new store will help us better serve the entire area."

The new Verizon Wireless store is located at 2439 Callahan Drive in North Knoxville. Verizon Wireless will host the opening celebrations from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The public is invited to tour the new store, view product demonstrations and participate in prize giveaways and other activities.

In conjunction with the store opening, Verizon Wireless will donate $500 to Columbus Home to assist victims of domestic violence in Knoxville and throughout Knox County.

"Verizon Wireless is committed to domestic violence awareness, and we are pleased to lend our support to Columbus Home and other local domestic violence prevention programs," said Chandler. "These programs provide a much needed service to the Knoxville community, and we look forward to a lasting relationship."

The new Verizon Wireless communications stores feature a variety of products and services including the latest wireless Internet services, including Mobile Web and Mobile Office, and Mobile Messenger for two-way text messaging. The new stores also feature [FREEUP], a new service package specifically targeted at young consumers. [FREEUP] - so named for the freedom sought by young adults - bundles nationwide voice service, two-way text messaging and voice mail. In addition to these offers, the Knoxville store is also featuring specials on the Ericsson 1288C, the Nokia 5185i and the Kyocera Smartphone QCP 6035, along with a premier line of other digital wireless phones, data products and accessories. The staff of trained professionals at each store can assist individuals in selecting equipment, calling plans or setting up Mobile Web, Verizon Wireless' Internet access service.

"Customers will get the same topnotch service as before, but in a new, expanded environment where we are able to provide a broad range of equipment and service plans to suit every need," Chandler said.

9 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, and 1-5 p.m. Sunday.
