More than 100 Million Downloads Make it Hip to Get It Now From Verizon Wireless

BEDMINSTER, NJ and SAN FRANCISCO — Classic favorites and hot new releases are available at Verizon Wireless Get It Now® customers' fingertips — since launching the service in September 2002, the popularity of Get It Now has soared, with monthly downloads of Get It Now applications growing to more than nine million per month. From the CTIA Wireless I.T. & Entertainment Show in San Francisco, Verizon Wireless announced today that Get It Now downloads have exceeded more than 69 million for the year (January to September 2004), bringing the total number of Get It Now downloads since the service launched nationally two years ago to more than 103 million. New applications are introduced every Wednesday, so customers can keep their Get It Now-enabled handsets up-to-date with the latest cool applications from the Get It Now virtual store.

Get It Now currently contains a library of more than 500 applications allowing customers to sing along to their favorite song every time their phone rings, challenge their favorite sports star or save their favorite pictures as their phone's wallpaper. Customers can also download applications to easily keep in touch with friends and family, remain productive or keep up-to-date on the latest news and information.

The Get It Now virtual store is organized to help customers find what they want, when they want it. With virtual shopping aisles including getGAMES, getTONES, getGOING, getPIX, getFUN and getMESSAGING, it's easier than ever for customers to jump right to the applications that suit their interests. Verizon Wireless also has a "What's New" category for customers who want to see the newest additions to the Get It Now lineup.

Games and ringtones are the most popular applications. The getGAMES shopping aisle features puzzle and strategy games, action and sports games, classics based on popular board games and games based on favorite television shows and top movie titles. getGAMES also offers multiplayer games, providing the chance for players across the country to compete against each other. The getTONES shopping aisle offers hundreds of ringtones featuring today's hottest artists, as well as classical, classic rock, pop, movie theme songs and everything in between (see most popular applications listings below).
